Dogs are welcome in the Museumsdorf at any time, but they must be kept on a leash. The enclosures at the "Living Farm" can only be visited from the outside with dogs due to free-range animals.
The Card for Lower Austria entitles to a one-time free visit during the regular opening hours. For groups (group size from 15 persons) the Card for Lower Austria is not valid.
The grounds of the Museumsdorf are very spacious. It should take about 2 hours to visit all walk-in houses and gardens. However, the extensive offers make it possible to spend the whole day in the museum village.

No. The houses are museum objects, which reflect the scientific contents of the enterprise, and can therefore not be rented. However, it is possible to rent one of the courtyards for an event.
The foundation stone for the Museumsdorf was laid in 1979 by Prof. Josef Geissler. Since then, the company has developed into a central institution of the Lower Austrian museum landscape.
No. The Museumsdorf does not sell plants. But various old fruits and vegetables, which are cultivated by the gardening team, can be purchased at the annual plant market. Further information can be found under "Program".
